Profile

Roula (Stavroula) Raptis, MSc, has a diverse research background and interests, lending well to her analytical skills and ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams. Roula completed her BSc at the University of Waterloo, with a focus in cell and molecular biology and microbiology. She went on to complete an MSc degree at the University of Toronto in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology. There she explored gene polymorphisms in cancer susceptibility genes and was a member of a large, nationally funded initiative - the interprovincial Colorectal Cancer Interdisciplinary Health Research Team. Roula has experience in both academic and nonacademic settings, including working for an independent analytical laboratory for several years, as well as in various teaching environments. In her current role with the Observational Epidemiology and Qualitative Research Unit, Roula is involved in study design, patient registry and database design, protocol and data collection form development, study planning and operations, and research communications. She is the author of a book chapter on genetic instability, and an author and co-author on several additional peer-reviewed publications.
