
Rekha Thomas is the Clinical Trials Unit Lead at SPHERE, responsible for overseeing the Clinical Trials Unit team comprised of Clinical Research Specialists. In her role, she provides day to day oversight and supervision of the team managing multi-center national or international clinical trials, ranging from Phase I-III, across a variety of therapeutic areas.
Rekha has been at SPHERE since 2018 and spearheaded several large, fast-paced trials (i.e. Randomized Clinical Trials, Community based research studies, and Adaptive Platform trials), from study initiation to closeout. Rekha has been successful at planning, managing and executing clinical research studies and projects in keeping with ICH-GCP, regulatory guidelines, as well as all applicable privacy legislation.
Prior to SPHERE, Rekha has worked in the capacity of Research Officer in setting up institutional research infrastructure, establishing the Research Ethics board and managing a variety of Public Health projects (i.e. substance abuse and over-dose potential, diabetes and obesity).
Rekha obtained her Honors in Cell & Molecular Biology from the University of Toronto followed by Postgraduate in Clinical Research from Humber College. Rekha also holds active Certified the Clinical Research Professional (CCRP®) and Project Management Professional (PMP®) designations.
